Young realizes how much Boomers drive the online-dating industry, citing Pew data that shows online dating has increased more than 300 percent among the 50-plus demographic between 20.
Nearly one-third of Boomers are single and 70 percent say they date regularly."They're overcoming their fears of going online, so it's a natural progression to realize they're more suited to online dating than any other demographic in our culture," Young said.
But on the flipside, it's made me a little cynical," said Teets, who was married for 30 years to her high-school sweetheart.
Teets yearns for a travel companion and changed her online profile to reflect that.
And while it's still hit-or-miss, this generation finds this method easier than hitting bars, getting set up by friends or just trying to run into people on the street when looking for companionship or love.
